Language to Use in Your Will
Making a gift to the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa through your estate plan reflects your ongoing commitment to your community and the causes you care about most. It enables you to make a difference for others, forever.
Fulfilling your charitable wishes can be done in one simple sentence, like the one below and can be used for estate gifts through:
- Living Trusts
- Contingent provisions in any of the above estate documents
"I give, devise and bequeath _______________________ (percent of the residuary estate, address or description of property to be given, or dollar amount) to the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa, 3117 Greenhill Circle, Cedar Falls, IA 50613 tax ID# 42-6060414. This gift shall benefit
the ________Name of Fund__________________."
To leave a bequest to one of our County Affiliates, the language above may be amended to state "to the (name of County Affiliate here), an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa,
tax ID# 42-6060414."
Gifts may be contributed to any of the Foundation's existing funds, or used toestablish a new fund if it meets the Foundation's fund minimum.

Important: When making a planned gift to the Foundation such as a gift in your Will, naming a beneficiary designation of a retirement plan, or life insurance beneficiary, please contact us so that we can ensure your charitable intention is fulfilled.
The appropriate wording for making a gift depends on the type of gift, state law and the donor's unique circumstances. The Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa urges all prospective donors to seek the assistance of personal legal and financial advisors in matters relating to their gifts, and the resulting tax and estate planning consequences.
